My son had an elbow fracture while practicing football at school on May 21, 2018. I got a call from Coach saying that my son had a dislocation on his elbow but it was put back in place and that he was ok. When I went to pick him up I knew he wasn't ok, his elbow was wrapped with ice and I can see on his face that he was in extreme pain. They told me to take him to the nearest hospital, but I knew the hospital would give me a referral to see an specialist or even worse, to wait who knows how many hours to have an Orthopedic Surgeon (which I did not have a choice) to see my son for “evaluation” as the majority of hospitals does not have Orthopedic Surgeons on site 24 hours. My other option was to take him to a conventional Urgent Care, which I really thought was not a good idea due to the fact that he could be seen by a regular doctor on duty (if I got lucky, otherwise it could be a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) which they will turn us out with a referral to see an Orthopedic Surgeon. With that being said, I choose to go to OrthoNow the Orthopedic Urgent Care located by my son’s school at Doral. There was no long wait, my son had x-rays done in office and was evaluate it by an orthopedic physician. The bad news, my son had a Head Radius Fracture of the Elbow and needed surgery. I got in panic, it was night time and my son was in some much pain. The doctor then talked to Dr. Alejandro Badia over the phone and explained my son’s medical condition, per Dr Badia I had to be at his office by next day at 7:30 am, which is located at the same building. He also said to be prepared as my son was scheduled for surgery at Surgery Center at Doral same morning. Next day, Dr. Badia evaluated my son, and explained the procedure he was to undergo. It sounded simple and fast to recover from. My son was in surgery for less than an hour, then one hour later, he was recovering from the anesthesia and asking for food lol. We were home after 2 hours, my son even recorded a video thanking Dr. Badia for the procedure. Pain Medication was prescribed and he only took two pills from the 30 that was prescribed! Pain was minimal, next day he walking around the house being just a typical teenager. My son had physical therapy at OrthoNow Rehab with a great team for two weeks. I have to admited that I was very nervous with the outcome, but at the end, I was happy with the decision I made on choosing Dr. Badia and his team! My son was finally discharged on July 9th, a little bit over a month after the injury and I am so grateful to know that my son’s elbow motion range is back, that there is no permanent medical issues he will face now or in the future, or even worse, to have a second surgery to fix anything done incorrectly. In overall, the fracture was a little more bigger than we could see on the x-rays, also the scar is very small and most importantly, my son is back on football practice as usual! I am blessed and grateful to have made the right decision to take my son to the best Orthopedic Surgeon in town! I will love to share some pictures here, but doesn’t give me the choice, however I will post the before and after images at the Facebook page.

Prior of seeing Dr Badia, I had surgery done on the same finger by an other surgeon. Unfortunately the first surgeon did something wrong and my finger did not healed properly, the finger was not straight, it was curved to the side and down (trigger finger) as well swollen. Three months after the first surgery I continued having pains, had no use of the finger. Well, consequently I went to see an other doctor, this second doctor did not want to operated on my finger, he told me and my husband, that the surgery will be to complicated to perform and maybe he would have to do 2 or more surgeries to fix the broken bone that healed in a wrong position. Was then when I heard throughout a friend about Dr Badia, I then went to see Dr Badia with the hope that he could improve my finger somehow. After examining the crocked finger, he looked at me and said, "I'll try to make it better, however, it will be a very difficult and delicate surgery, but I'll do my best" After seeing my finger a few days after the surgery, I was thrilled to see my finger straight again, the surgery was a success. I'll need to have therapy for few weeks, maybe a month or two, but this was to be expected. I was very lucky to have met Dr Badia, he his calm, a gentleman, with a good sense of humor, made me feel comfortable at all times not rushing, pleasant with a nice smile on his face. We spoke Portuguese, (my native language) and he did not have any difficulties in understanding my Brazilian "portonhol" His stuff are as well as nice, pleasant as he is. I strongly recommend Dr Badia in case of need. Muito obrigada, Maria Laino "The Brazilian couple

I have never met such an incredible physician that combines his passion of his craft with the dedication and steadfast care to help his fellow patients live a better life. Yes, he is my client, but I am not just saying it to post a good mark or because we have become good friends. In fact, I have hesitated posting for the last 4 years a review thinking others would think I am biased. I guess is time to share with the others how I feel about Dr Badia. I genuinely believe Dr Badia is a class apart from all the physicians and healthcare providers I have worked for the past 10 years across the country from some of the top hospital brands. Dr Badia is a miracle worker in his craft and he truly cares for his patients coupled with an incredible staff at his practice. Whoever is reading this review, if you ever need the best hand surgeon specialist for a consultation, call me and I will personally make sure you get to see Dr Badia. #mustseeDrBadia is my mantra. Thank you Dr Badia and Badia Hand to Shoulder team for all you do! Cheers on your 20,000 patient milestone!
