I use John’s team for vehicle inspections every year in addition to brakes, electrical and other issues that come up. They have always done a great job and you can trust the work that they do for you.

I was having some shifting trouble on my 2008 automatic Tacoma and like a rookie I took it to the Toyo dealership. They hooked up the diagnostics machine and left me a voicemail stating I would need a brand new $5000 transmission. After picking my jaw up off of the floor I decided to look at some transmission-specific shops. I called Aamco and explained the situation and the Salesperson told me that their technicians would start with the most obvious problems and work through - a total transmission replacement would be the last thing they recommend. The technicians at Aamco were able to determine that I had faulty transmission lines which were causing the issues and that they could replace the lines for well less than a total transmission replacement. Lines replaced, transmission fluid added, and she's running like a 2012 again! 12/10 would recommend. Thanks, Aamco!!!

In the afternoon of the Friday of the 4th of July weekend we experienced what we thought were transmissions problems with our Dodge Caravan. We stopped at a local Dodge dealer to see about the problem and the service representative said that they could run a diagnostic test for $189.00 but that it would be several days before they could work on the car. Next we stopped at the dealership where we bought the car (not a Dodge dealership) and their service department said it could be a transmission problem but they couldn’t handle it and we should visit an AAMCO dealer down the road. We followed their suggestion and went to the AAMCO center at 8436 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, Pa 15237. We were greeted in a friendly manner and even thought they were very busy John, the owner, asked us if we could wait about 20 minutes and then they would be happy to look at the car and evaluate the problem. After their evaluation we learned that we did not have a transmission issue but that the computer simply had to be rebooted. One hour later we were on our way and had been charged only $89.00 to perform the diagnostic test. We can’t thank John and his staff enough for their willingness to help us. They were all polite, professional, friendly and efficient. We highly and with out reservations recommend the total car experts at the AAAMCO office on Perry Highway.

I asked John to make my air conditioner work again in a thirteen year old car that I could drive for a few more years and put many more miles on it. John started with an actuator part my husband ordered online and had no success installing it, nor did two other mechanics I sought to install the part. John discovered that my car was American made but the part needed was foreign. He looked up the VIN, ordered the correct part, helped me find a rental car for the extended repair, and did not give up when that ordered part also did not fit my car. The ordered part solved one of the problems, the arm size now fit, but the air conditioner had a second issue, the electrical plug would not fit. John and his team brainstormed, combined the two parts to solve both problems, and it works wonderfully! They did all of this with an attitude of care for the customer, patience in doing this extra work required, good communications with me along the way, and they chose to solve the problem many would have left for me to solve somewhere else. For this, they charged a most reasonable rate and they have gained a happy family here who will bring all of our future business to John's Aamco!
